Description

Sticky beef noodles stir-fried with tender beef, peppers, and a glossy garlic-soy sauce — a fast, flavorful homemade Chinese-style dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp oil

  • 8 oz rice noodles or egg noodles

  • 1 tbsp oil (for stir-frying)

  • 2 bell peppers, sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce (optional)

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • Optional: scallions, sesame seeds, chili flakes for garnish

Instructions

  • Marinate beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and oil. Set aside.

  • Cook noodles per package, rinse under cold water, and toss with oil.

  • Heat oil in wok or skillet. Sear beef in batches until browned. Set aside.

  • In same pan, sauté peppers, garlic, and ginger for 2–3 minutes.

  • Whisk together sauce ingredients. Pour into pan, simmer 1–2 minutes.

  • Return beef and add noodles. Toss to coat. Drizzle with sesame oil.

  • Garnish and serve hot.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook beef — high heat and quick searing is key.

  • Add veggies like bok choy or snap peas for variety.

  • For gluten-free: use tamari and rice noodles.
